Quebec, July 9, 2021 – The Chief Scientist of Québec, Mr. Rémi Quirion, and the director of Societal Challenges and Intersectoral Networks (DSMI), Mrs. Denise Pérusse, are pleased to announce the launch of the fifth competition of the intersectoral program AUDACE for the year 2022- 2023. Through this program, the FRQ aspire to position Québec on a prominent place in the international movement of high risk / high return research funding. At the same time, they aim to provide the scientific community from the three major sectors covered by the FRQ with favorable conditions for initiating projects with a high level of risk, but with the potential for high impacts, be they scientific, social, economic, technological, cultural, aesthetic, etc.
Important deadlines
- July 9, 2021 : Launch of the call for projects. The AUDACE program rules will be available online
- August 12, 2021, 10 AM and August 24, 2021, 2 PM : Two possible dates to attend a webinar presenting the competition objectives and rules. Click on one of the following dates to register: August 12, 10 AM; August 24, 2 PM
- September 8, 2021, 4 PM : Deadline for submission of letters of intent
- December 1, 2021, 4 PM : Deadline for submission of applications
- March, 2022 : Interviews with the leaders of the projects selected in Phase 1 of the evaluation (individual evaluations) for presentation before the international committee
- April 30, 2022 : Announcement of the results
Funding consists of a grant of up to $100,000 that can be used over a two-year period. Indirect costs equivalent to 27% of the allocated budget will be paid in addition to the amount of the research grant for a maximum of $27,000.
